The «Athenaides», a member of the Greek-American organization AHEPA, awarded Vangelis Marinakis for his contribution to the community. The prize was awarded by Vassilis Korkidis, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Piraeus

A self-made businessman, Evangelos Marinakis, the man named Lloyd's one of the 100 most powerful personalities in the world of shipping, was honored for his contribution to the charity gala organized by the Athenian Association.

The «Athenaides», a member of the Greek-American organization AHEPA, awarded Evangelos Marinakis for his contribution to the community. The prize was awarded by Vassilis Korkidis, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Piraeus.

Rena Vassilakis briefly referred to the charity work of Evangelos Marinakis, inside and outside of Greece: providing food and basic necessities to people facing survival problems – regardless of race, helping people to overcome the natural disasters that they have been through, in both Attica and the countryside , supporting the work of the Holy Metropolis of Piraeus, donating a Pontian genocide memorial, and organizing through the Academy of the Olympic Football Tournament for Children with Disabilities.

The event was addressed by the Minister of Development, Adonis Georgiades, who spoke with the warmest words about the work of the «Athenaides»,  that a few days ago marked their 6 years of action.
